Chinese Medicine and the Management of Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is, as the title indicates, a book about the hypermobile variation of a wide-ranging set of connective tissue disorders known collectively as the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes.
Dr. Bruno wrote a couple basic blog posts on Chinese medicine and hEDS almost five years ago and, in response, she received emails from Europe, Canada, and all over the USA requesting information. Whether it was a practitioner seeking advice on how to treat patients or a potential patient asking for help to find a practitioner in their area, it quickly became clear to her that she had an obligation. She realized that she needed to write a book and … here we are!
This book was written for practitioners, but it is delivered so that a layperson or questioning potential patient can benefit from its very clear, very thorough depiction of the biomedical side of the equation in chapter one that is followed by an in-depth consideration of Chinese medicine for hEDS in the chapters that follow. This book can be read by anyone who want to understand how Chinese medicine can be of service to hypermobile wellbeing. It can even be useful patients who want to ask their practitioner to read it with them, so that both patient and caregiver are on the same page, as it were, with their understanding of the disorder. As much as possible, Dr. Bruno tried to provide accessible information.
